Dr. Bryna Federspiel was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. Even as a young kid she knew she was destined to be a veterinarian. Her parents let her pick out their first family dog at the Humane Society when she was just 2 years old. In elementary school she would play “vet clinic” with her friends and they would bring their stuffed animals to her so she could treat them and fix any illness they had.

Dr. Bryna attended Nerinx Hall High School where she realized her interests were anatomy, biology, and physics. She went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in physics of medicine at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. She adopted her first dog as a senior in college, a lab mix named Willie, who is attached at her hip. She was a veterinary assistant at a small animal clinic in St. Louis prior to attending Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. During veterinary school, Dr. Bryna joined the staff at Gentle Doctor Animal Hospital as a technician and never left. She graduated from Kansas State in 2020 and was presented the compassionate animal care award.

Dr. Bryna currently lives with her husband in St. Louis. They have 3 dogs- Willie as mentioned above, Keno a lab-hound mix, Jade a hound-Doberman mix and 1 cat- Grim. Grim was raised by a couple of technicians from a 2 week old kitten and went home with Dr. Bryna shortly after that. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her pets, her family, her husband, and trail ride horses at Beaumont boy scout camp. She loves getting to work with all the wonderful patients and clients here at Gentle Doctor.
